MiCA White Paper Tracker: Advancing Transparency and Compliance Across the Crypto Industry

The MiCA Crypto Alliance is pleased to announce the launch of Version 2 of the MiCA White Paper Tracker, a public database maintained by the MiCA Crypto Alliance that evaluates crypto-asset white papers published under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation.
Our MiCA registry allows users to track and compare MiCA white papers across the crypto industry, assessing their disclosure quality and compliance readiness.
Every white paper is evaluated using the MiCA Crypto Alliance White Paper Scoring Methodology, which measures both compliance (whether required sections are present) and conformance (how well those sections align with MiCA’s Regulatory Technical Standards).
With Version 2, the White Paper Tracker introduces expanded coverage, version tracking, and enhanced functionality to improve accuracy, transparency, and usability for the entire Web3 ecosystem.
Why MiCA white papers matter
Under MiCA, a white paper is required whenever a crypto-asset is offered to the public or admitted to trading on a platform. The obligation applies to offerors, persons seeking admission to trading, and trading platforms, and must include detailed disclosures about the issuer where it is different from those parties.
The MiCA White Paper Tracker addresses this gap by preserving every version of a white paper and providing a transparent view of MiCA-related disclosures, whether listed in the ESMA registry or made publicly available by issuers and offerors.
What’s new in Version 2
- Version tracking for every asset: The updated MiCA White Paper Tracker now supports version tracking for all white papers submitted to the ESMA registry for the same asset by the same author. While MiCA requires offerors and persons seeking admission to trading to maintain previous versions on their own websites, most projects do not do so. Our MiCA White Paper Tracker preserves every version, ensuring historical continuity and full public visibility.
- Expanded dataset: Coverage has grown substantially, with 144 white papers scored, up from 39 in the previous release. Our MiCA register now includes both documents formally submitted to the ESMA registry and publicly available white papers that are not yet listed there.
- Improved user experience: The new release adds enhanced filtering capabilities by asset type (EMT, ART, or OTH), author, utility token status, and ESMA submission status, along with pagination and design improvements for easier navigation. These upgrades make it simpler to compare projects consistently across MiCA’s disclosure categories and assess their compliance readiness.
Why this matters
MiCA’s white paper requirements mark a foundational step toward harmonised crypto-asset disclosure standards across the EU. By building upon the ESMA registry with added functionality, our MiCA registry enhances transparency and preserves a complete version history of each white paper.
Through systematic tracking, versioning, and scoring, the MiCA Crypto Alliance helps market participants monitor the quality and completeness of white papers published under MiCA Titles II, III, and IV. It also helps them better understand what high-quality, MiCA-aligned disclosure looks like in practice.
For offerors, issuers, and persons seeking admission to trading, our MiCA registry provides a reliable reference point for evaluating and improving documentation quality. For exchanges and CASPs, it offers a consistent view of market readiness and helps identify where projects meet, exceed, or fall short of MiCA’s disclosure standards.
