MiCA Crypto Alliance Supports Hercle Through to MiCA Authorisation

The MiCA Crypto Alliance welcomes Hercle as a new member, following Hercle S.r.l.'s recent authorisation as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider under MiCA by Consob. The Alliance supported this achievement directly, through its ESG data service and its white paper hyperlink service, corresponding to the Article 66(5) and Article 66(3) obligations respectively.
About Hercle
Hercle is an institutional cross-border payments infrastructure provider, bridging fiat and regulated stablecoin rails to give banks, fintechs, PSPs and corporate treasuries a single stack for FX, settlement and liquidity across Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Hercle supports 30+ currencies across major and emerging markets corridors and has processed over $20bn in volume to date for 200+ institutions. Hercle S.r.l. holds a CASP authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) and an Electronic Money Institution license (EMI).
Why this membership matters
Article 66(5) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA) requires crypto-asset service providers to publish, in a prominent place on their website, information on the principal adverse climate and environmental impacts of the consensus mechanism behind each crypto-asset they service. The detailed indicators and methodology for that disclosure are set out in Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/422. Meeting that standard in practice, particularly for indicators drawn from a decentralised base layer, has become one of the more demanding compliance questions facing infrastructure providers operating across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory perimeters.
The Alliance prepared full ESG disclosure factsheets covering the crypto-assets Hercle S.r.l. offers as a CASP, published under Article 66(5) of MiCA). Each factsheet sets out the mandatory climate indicator on energy consumption, supplementary indicators on renewable energy share, energy intensity, and Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, and optional indicators spanning the energy mix, water use, land use, and waste generation.
"Working with the MiCA Crypto Alliance on our sustainability disclosure made a demanding part of our MiCA compliance far more manageable, and joining a network that understands these obligations from the inside gives us real confidence going forward." — Pietro Rossetto, Senior Legal Analyst, Hercle
Looking ahead
The Alliance and Hercle will continue working together on documentation as reporting obligations are applied in practice across the group's EU and Swiss operations. Both licensing practice and sustainability reporting under MiCA are still taking shape, and disclosures of this kind are likely to be revisited as further technical guidance emerges.
