MiCA Crypto Alliance Welcomes Chiliz as a Sports-Focused Blockchain Powering Fan Tokens

The MiCA Crypto Alliance is pleased to welcome Chiliz as a member. As part of this collaboration, the Alliance supported the review and iXBRL conversion of multiple crypto-asset white papers within the Chiliz and Fan Tokens ecosystem, supporting MiCA-aligned, machine-readable disclosure.
Chiliz’s membership reflects the growing importance of consistent, standardised regulatory documentation for crypto-assets offered to the public or seeking admission to trading under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation.
About Chiliz
Chiliz is a sports and entertainment–focused blockchain ecosystem built to support fan engagement through crypto-assets and decentralised infrastructure. At its core is the Chiliz Chain, an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, and CHZ, its native asset, which supports network operations, staking, and on-chain governance.
The ecosystem also includes partnerships with sports and esports organisations through which Fan Tokens are issued. These crypto-assets enable fans to participate in club-related polls, access token-enabled experiences, and engage with teams via blockchain-based mechanisms, forming a multi-asset ecosystem operating across sports and entertainment use cases.
Why this matters
Under MiCA, disclosure and publication obligations apply at the level of each individual crypto-asset, where a crypto-asset is offered to the public or admission to trading in the EU is sought. Each crypto-asset therefore requires its own MiCA-compliant white paper, reflecting its specific characteristics, risks, and regulatory classification.
For ecosystems that support multiple crypto-assets, these obligations result in a cumulative documentation and compliance burden that must be managed accurately and consistently over time. Taking a structured approach to MiCA documentation supports regulatory clarity and helps ensure that asset-specific disclosures are prepared, maintained, and published in line with applicable EU requirements.
Looking ahead
The CHZ, DOJO, POR, ARG, CITY, GAL, TRA, MENGO, and SPURS white papers will be published shortly as a public resource to support MiCA implementation. Further details will be announced in due course.
