Introducing the MiCA Whitepaper Tracker

We are proud to announce the launch of the MiCA Crypto Alliance Whitepaper Tracker, a free tool making MiCA whitepapers easier to find, track, and evaluate. Under Article 109 of MiCA, ESMA is required to maintain a public register of all MiCA-compliant whitepapers.

Given the scale of implementation, ESMA released an “interim” register in the form of 3 separate CSV files: one for each whitepaper type, with plans for a more robust register by mid-2026.

However, this CSV-based solution has imperfections:

  • One must download and re-check three separate files every time.

  • There is no version control: whitepapers vanish or change without a trace.

  • On occasion, issuers also update whitepapers without resubmission, rendering the CSVs out of date.

  • Navigation is clumsy: the first column lists authorities rather than crypto assets.

  •  Many links are broken, missing, or simply point to issuer homepages.

  • A unified view of all whitepapers simply does not exist.

Our solution

The MiCA Whitepaper Tracker is our solution, and it is also free.

Key Features:

  • Simple, intuitive UI: search directly by ticker.

  • Unified table: no more juggling three CSV files.

  • Reliable links: with locally stored copies of all whitepapers.

  • Transparent status & version tracking: Removed whitepapers remain visible but are clearly marked. Updated versions found on issuer websites are flagged, even when ESMA shows no record. Whitepapers published but not submitted are noted as such.

The MiCA Crypto Alliance has also developed a Whitepaper Score, based on a proprietary scoring framework, which should help issuers to improve their submissions by consulting good practices.

Compliance professionals and researchers have already built stop-gap dashboards around the CSVs. While these offer automation, they also inherit all of the CSVs’ flaws: missing files, broken links, no version history, and poor browseability. The MiCA Whitepaper Tracker requires more effort to maintain, yet it also delivers a far more reliable and transparent solution.

The MiCA Crypto Alliance team is already working on v2, which will include stronger version control and new features. With your support and feedback, we hope this becomes the go-to MiCA public good.
